Dholpur Red
Also known as Agra Red is one of the most famous varieties of sandstone ever since its use in The Taj-Mahal, Agra Fort, Delhi Fort and various huge ancient architectural monuments in Northern India. This sandstone has exceptional degree of tolerance that does not show weathering effects even for ages. The stone being smooth and soft is easy to be carved and cut and is therefore also used extensively in stone handicrafts. Exceptional Quality of the stone is that the same can be obtained in blocks, split faces to provide various options for the architects for its usage.
